A hundred-year-old chutor in the late-summer sun looks like an illustration from a fairy tale. One where magical creatures live, time stands still and there are only happy endings. We run away here at any time of the year to distance ourselves from everyday problems in galoshes, with a basket for mushrooms and a smile on our lips. Nowhere is it so successful as here - in the ancient Lemko orchard in the quiet vestibule of the Bieszczady Mountains.
The name of the habitat was invented by a husband inspired by the famous TV series "Przystanek Alaska" in the nineties (in which the doctor moved to the end of the world). Andrzej is also a doctor, so the name fits perfectly. I am a photographer and I know how important it is to capture beautiful moments. I catch them as much as I can. Ropienka has been tested in every way by our kids - they can disappear here for hours, come back stained with mud, but with the widest smiles I have ever seen with them. For mud, greenery, ear-to-ear smiles and Podkarpacie magic suspended in the air, get off at Przystanek Ropienka.
The habitat that we saved from oblivion includes two houses: the 10-person Chata Łemkowska and the 12-person forester's lodge. We will not hide that those who do not need big city attractions, but a piece of blue sky feel best here. You can take pets to us, but rather polite ones, because we do not have a fence, and if they feel the call of nature - they will run into the blue distance! In both houses there is a fiber optic internet connection (you can work, although we advise against it).
And now about houses in turn:
The Lemko cottage can accommodate 10 people. It has a large living room with a fireplace, a swing and a table where everyone can fit. The spacious kitchen has all the necessary equipment, and on this ancient one you can make prugs on a hot baking tray. The house has one large bathroom with shower and bathtub. Upstairs there are three bedrooms: two with a double bed and a fold-out bed (pull-out) into two single ones and a desk, and with a double bed and a metal children's bed (80x160). The terrace will be ready at any moment, but you can use the fireplace and grill. There are flies, fortunately mosquitoes give us a wide berth.
The forester's lodge is slightly larger and can accommodate 12 people.
It has a fully equipped kitchen, a large living room with a fireplace, TV and a large dining table. On the first floor, there are bedrooms with bathrooms:
- a room with an attic with a double bed, and in the attic with two mattresses, a table and toys for children,
- a room with a double bed,
- a double room (divided by a door), in one part a double bed, in the other a folding bed (pull-out) into two single ones - we have two such double rooms.
You can be visited by flies, flying ants, and even wasps - but don't worry, we have the means to fight them. The house has a terrace where we recommend eating breakfast and access to the pond with goldfish. Of course there is a barbecue area.
The kitchens in both houses are fully equipped. In Chata Łemkowska, there is also an ancient kitchen-stove, on which we bake proziaki.
If you don't feel like cooking, you can order home-made dinners from Mrs. Marta's country hostess (with delivery). We will send you to the Food House for pizza (they also offer free delivery to the houses). We love to eat lunch at the glider in Bezmiechowa - the restaurant has a view of the Bieszczady Mountains! For shopping, go to Ropienka, and if you are a fan of dairy products, you will get delicious eco cheeses in Wańkowa - Czar PGRu.
There is a lot of green around the houses, over 2 hectares of meadow and quiet neighbors in the distance. We are close to the Słonne Mountains Landscape Park and the Chwaniów Reserve, and most importantly, not far from us to the Bieszczady Mountains (absolutely necessary points to visit are: Mała and Wielka Rawka, Połonina Caryńska and Połonina Wetlińska with the famous Puchatka Cottage). If you like walking and climbing in the mountains - we have an ideal location for short and long trips. We recommend you to see:
- Duszatyńskie Lakes,
- Sine Wiry Reserve,
- Waterfall Szepit and Siklawa Ostrowskich,
- Solina dam,
- Open-air Charcoal Firing Museum in Lutowiska,
- wisents in Muczne,
- Bieszczady Forest Railway (Majdan - Przysłup and Majdan - Balnica),
- Park of the Starry Sky "Bieszczady".
We recommend you come to us for a total reset, because the atmosphere of this place is especially supported by sweet laziness. It is worth eating breakfast slowly, exposing your face to the sun during walks, feasting, reading books ... anything that will help your body return to balance. If you prefer sports, then 6 km from us, in Wańkowa there is a newly opened slope - Bieszczad.ski, for lovers of flying a glider in Bezmiechowa, it is worth jumping over the Solina reservoir (24 km) or riding a bicycle trolley in Uherce Mineralne (fun for the whole families!), also in Uherce there is the Bieszczady School of Crafts, where you can actively participate in the workshops of dying professions. If you like learning history, be sure to go to the Boyko Museum in Myczków, to the ruins of the Fortified Monastery of Discalced Carmelites and to the Church of St. Michael the Archangel in Smolnik.
In spring it can be wet with us - take your rain boots! In autumn, go ahead and pick mushrooms, in winter you can take a sled from us and practice descents from nearby hills.
What’s there for children?
Children can do anything here! They climb trees, swing in a hammock, count blades of grass and stars in the sky. They build secret bases, tree huts and play stalking. Most often they disappear for days and come back only in the evening - hungry, handcuffed and content. In summer, it is worth soaking your feet in mountain streams, and in winter we have so much snow here that you can easily organize snowball fights, building igloos and sledging rallies.
The little ones will surely enjoy a visit to the village zoo and the bison show yard in Muczne, a narrow-gauge train ride, trolleys or horse riding lessons in a friendly Tabuńczyk.
