Montanum Przesieka

The Dalai Lama stayed with us, one of our houses was the seat of the president of Jelenia Góra before the war, and in the 1960s a very famous British writer lived here. Montanum's most colorful time came when Alma Yoray came to the Karkonosze Mountains in the 1980s. The dancer, choreographer and Vipassana teacher from the United States sensed a special energy in this corner of the Jizera Mountains. And you must know that she was looking for a place where she could open a Buddhist meditation center in many places in Eastern Europe. However, it was in the oldest houses in Przesieka that she conducted yoga, tai-chi and meditation workshops for over two decades, and at that time our village was visited by real celebrities from the Buddhist community. I remember Alma. My parents were friends with her. When she passed away, the houses in Bukowy Gaj stood empty for a decade, but today, together with Jasia, we want to breathe life again into this extraordinary place with a colorful history. We do not teach meditation ourselves, but our homes are still associated with its practice and Buddhism. We invite groups to all kinds of workshops, for which Montanum will be a soothing background - both villas have 2 huge rooms for yoga and more. We also invite families and groups of friends: we will be an excellent base for hiking, we will serve you incredibly delicious cuisine and invite you to the sauna and hot tub.
