We have never met a bored child. There are rumors that between workshops on making birdhouses and ceramics, between walks with the neighbor's horses and a competition for the best zipline ride, a boy was once seen wondering what else to do today. However, he was immediately grabbed by a group of dirty children, some of whom were ours, neighbors or guests, and they peed in their galoshes into the pond, only to ride away on a bicycle along a country road. And in the evening, instead of in the room - go to sleep under the open sky, because sleeping in the garden is a proper children's sleepover and no one is offended, even by princesses taking a nap on the trampoline. Here it's allowed.
We invite you to a very family guesthouse. Come to us if you like children, yours and others. Come if you have temporarily run out of ideas for fun. We guarantee that we have them. In the nooks and crannies of our garden with old trees, surrounding an over 100-year-old house, there is a place for everyone: children as energetic as an Osram bulb and parents who dream of catching their breath on a deckchair. Friendships are formed here for years, and then we are surprised to learn that some guests take others to Poznań with a ceramic mug made in the workshops.
We have 2 brand new apartments in the attic of a house over a hundred years old. We invite you to them as a family. And now ATTENTION: we do not impose any age limit for children, but we ask you to take into account that the apartments on the 2nd floor have a slightly steeper but comfortable staircase, and inside there are also stairs to the attic. Each apartment has two levels. It is up to you to decide whether your children will manage and whether you will feel safe in such circumstances.
Loft (typically family, without closed spaces):
- open space with kitchenette,
- downstairs in this space: 1 double bed, 1 single bed and 1 double sofa,
- in the attic with stairs: 2 single beds,
- bathroom with shower,
- it can accommodate 7 people, but it will be comfortable for 5.
- if you use the attic (two additional beds), you have to climb stairs like a "ladder", children love sleeping here
With stained glass (with separate rooms):
- large living room with kitchen,
- closed rooms: with 1 double bed and with 1 double bed and 1 single bed,
- attic with stairs: 3 single beds,
- bathroom with shower,
- it can accommodate 8 people and no one will have to sleep on the couch.
At Slowhop we only rent apartments, but on the 1st floor of our house there are also guest rooms, where a maximum of 9 people can stay overnight. It is very possible that you will not be the only guests here. The house is also inhabited by four of us. We have our own apartment with a separate entrance. We can accommodate a total of 25 guests.
Our companions are 4 cats and a dog - this is important information for allergy sufferers. The house is a cat kingdom and cats can enter everywhere, including the guest area. That is why we invite you to us only with a small dog. Please let us know in advance if you intend to come with it, we will ask you a few questions about the dog.
Our house is old, has its own history, the rooms are not soundproofed, and the floors squeak. There is always something going on. Even when there are no other guests in the house, which rarely happens, children from nearby houses or schools drop by for workshops. This is a place for those who enjoy contact with people, especially the little ones, and instead of absolute silence, are looking for a place where children can give an outlet for their energy and creativity.
We do not prepare meals, but we have well-equipped kitchens where you can take care of them yourself. There are many good restaurants within reach of a car trip and there you will hunt down something to eat on days when you absolutely do not feel like cooking. You can also take advantage of the possibility of having food delivered to the place. Also feel free to take advantage of the benefits of the area. You can buy delicious cheeses or fresh vegetables in the neighborhood.
In the summer, there are plenty of strawberries in our garden, there are also currants, raspberries, plums. Help yourself.
In our workshop in Stara Kuźnia, full of historical objects, we hold handicraft workshops:
- ceramics,
- learning to work on a potter's wheel,
- knitting: making hats (led by our daughter Ola),
- making bath bombs (led by our son Krzyś),
- soap,
- making protective pomades,
- making jewellery (led by our daughter Ola).
I lead most of them, but sometimes Ola and Krzyś help me - they also implement their workshop ideas and they do it well. The workshops are additionally paid, the price range is from PLN 45 for bath bombs to PLN 140 for individual lessons in turning on a potter's wheel. You can of course take all the items made during the classes with you. The workshops are intended for both adults and children - you can safely participate in them as a family. We can arrange them individually, just let me know what you would be interested in. We are also able to prepare workshops according to your idea – for example, recently we made insect houses with children. We often host family groups from other summer resorts, and in the season, school, kindergarten or disabled children.
In the evenings, the day often ends with a barbecue or a bonfire. We really like to get to know our guests. If you feel like it, we will definitely find an opportunity to meet and talk by the fire.
Right behind the house there are beautiful meadows, which you can access through the back gate. You can walk or cycle to Świeradów Zdrój through the valley, stopping at one of the viewpoints on the way, e.g. Skałki Zakochanych or Sępia Góra. From there, the view is so extensive that you can even see the Kaczawskie Mountains.
At the Culture Station in Świeradów Zdrój, you can sign up for interesting classes, take advantage of workshops at the Izerska Łąka Educational Center. In the city you will of course find historic spa architecture, e.g. Dom Zdrojowy from 1934. You can admire the views from the observation towers and from the largest Sky Walk in Poland. Don't forget to drink mineral water in the Walking Hall!
There are excellent single tracks, run tracks and cross-country skiing trails in the area, but you've probably heard about that. You can spend your time actively here at any time of the year.
In the immediate vicinity we can recommend:
- horseback riding with the neighbors,
- Geopark route and adit in Krobica (for children over 6 years old),
- Jelenie Skały
- mysterious remains of the village of Radoszków,
- Źródełko Wolfgang,
- ruins of the former shelter,
- Sępia Góra,
- Skałki Zofii,
- waterfall on Mrożynka hidden in the forest.
And in a slightly further area:
- Świecie Castle,
- Czocha Castle and the dams around it, boat trips in the area,
- Siedlęcin tower, the dam and the Pearl of the West (Bóbr Valley Landscape Park),
- trips: to the Stanisław Quartz Mine,
- to Wysoki Kamień from the Death Turn,
- from Jakuszyce to the Orle shelter
- Stóg Izerski and the gondola lift
- observation towers (e.g. Sky Walk, on Młynica, on Czarna Kopa, Smreck)
- Julia Steelworks in Piechowice
What’s there for children?
Everything! Seriously, don't come to us without children. Well, you can, but it will be a loss for them and for you. For us, children's hustle and bustle is a natural state, without children this place wouldn't be the same. Children visiting us naturally make friends with ours, but also with other young Guests. Such friendships with us last for years.
First of all, we invite you to the workshops we mentioned above. We will add that we try to equalize the age groups of children so that everyone feels good and has fun. We never refuse workshops to our Guests. We can organize them even for 1 child.
The yard is a space that we have given the children to rule. We have a great zip-line, a playground, a huge trampoline, street workout ladders, a swing and a hundred places where you can hide while playing hide and seek. We organize sleeping in the garden for those who want. We have seen all sorts of locations and configurations: children sleep in tents, on hammocks, and recently we even found some daredevils sleeping on a trampoline. We have recently added a special bed with a waterproof mattress to our garden. The lucky ones who occupy it sleep like royalty there.
Our neighbour breeds Polish Horses, with whom the children who visit us are very fond. She will be happy to invite them for horseback rides in the surrounding meadows.
We also know countless attractions in the area and will help you organise a holiday that your children will remember for the rest of their lives. Lower Silesia is a great place to come with children. You can plan something different for each day: trips to castles, bike rides, educational walks and take advantage of the wide range of workshops in the area.
What’s there for employees?
Rather, it is not a place for work, but for family holidays. In addition, the Internet is different in our country: especially when a lot of people use it, it can refuse to cooperate. However, it's not that you can't work at all - if you need to check e-mails or search for some information, it shouldn't be a problem.
