Igor Mitoraj bought an over 200-year-old house in Pietrasanta, Italy and created his studio there. He also had a space there full of books and paintings. Here, in Jelenia Góra, we have an over 100-year-old tenement house - a former field hospital of the garrison stationed here, with an apartment for you in it. We also have books, paintings and replicas of sculptures by one of the most famous Polish sculptors, whose work was the inspiration for the over 80-meter space. Perfect for 5 people, with two bedrooms, a living room with hi-fi equipment, an adapter and a record collection, a balcony, a speaker and a bathtub in the bathroom. The crystal chandelier was craned through the window, it is 4 meters from floor to ceiling, and in the restored clinker brick tenement house you can feel like you are in an elegant hotel from the early 1920s. There are wide staircases with wooden handrails, granite stairs and steel beams with the signatures of a German steelworks. There is also an extraordinary atmosphere of elegant relaxation and an invitation to take advantage of the café with a delicious breakfast located 300 meters away, walks along the Śródmieście Routes and visits to the Wzgórze Kościuszki park, whose trees can be seen from our windows. If you want to sleep like in a hotel, but with a unique atmosphere, you have found the right place. And you can share it with your pets. We invite you!
In an over 100-year-old, renovated clinker brick tenement house, which brings to mind a hotel from the 1920s, we have created for you an over 80-meter apartment that will accommodate 4-5 people.
Inside you will find:
– two bedrooms with double beds,
– spacious living room with comfortable sofas, table and exit to the terrace,
– well-equipped kitchen,
– bathroom with bathtub,
– hifi equipment with an adapter and great sound system,
– TV with access to Netflix, a library and a selection of gramophone records.
One of the sofas can be folded out and can be used as a sleeping place for an additional person.
The style of the apartment refers to the work of the outstanding Polish sculptor - Igor Mitoraj. You will be surrounded by carefully selected sculptures and graphics. Aesthetes will also appreciate the building's wide staircases with sofas and beautiful, restored doors.
We will be honest with you - the kitchen is well equipped (there is a coffee machine and an oven), but it is not large. It seems to us that being in a city that has so much to offer in terms of restaurants and cafes, you may not want to cook here at all. That's why we're rushing with orders. Delicious breakfasts can be found at Mickiewicza 17b, 300 meters from the apartment. There is Altanka Bistro & Caffe. On the Town Hall Square you can eat a tasty lunch at I love Italy or Kuciu Smaku.
Welcome to Jelenia Góra, a city fabulously located in the center of the mountain valley, in the valleys of the Bóbr and Kamienna rivers. You will be able to admire its panorama from the Glider Mountain, 10 km away from us, and we highly recommend this trip. The city is surrounded from the west by the Jizera Mountains and Foothills, from the north by the Kaczawskie Mountains, from the east by Rudawy Janowickie, and from the south by the Karkonosze Mountains. From here you can go on trails, expeditions and discover the secrets of Lower Silesia.
On the other side of the street there is the "Wzgórze Kościuszki" park. It is a green recreational area with educational paths, places to rest in the shade and a sunny clearing. Most of the park is forest, giving way to alleys and open green areas with lots of trees. Even before the park was established in the 18th century, there was a gallows on the hill. There are still traces of it in the upper part of the park (it was built in the 16th century).
The apartment is located just over a kilometer from the Jelenia Góra market square (the walk will take you no more than fifteen minutes). You can visit all the city's attractions by wandering along the Small or Large City Center Route. These are suggestions for walks that can be extended by visiting the monuments you pass along the way. The Little Route starts on Wzgórze Krzywousty, at the Grzybek observation tower and leads through the city center to the Karkonosze Museum. Its walking time is approximately 60 minutes. The large Jelenia Góra Śródmieście Route is a proposal for a walk around Cieplice, Sobieszów and Jagniątkowo, it starts at the Evangelical Church of the Savior and ends at the Gerhart Hauptmann House Municipal Museum in Jagniątkowo. The hike takes about 3 hours. The last point on the route is a great place to start hiking in the mountains, you can go, for example, to Czarny Kotło Jagniątkowski. The signs marking the routes have QR codes that help you find your way on the virtual map.
It is worth visiting the Art Exhibition Office located in one of the side streets of the market square, and if you are here at that time, you can go to the International Street Theater Festival in July, the Jelenia Góra Antiques and Curiosities Fair in April and the Pestka International Avant-garde Theater Festival taking place in spring.
You can go on slightly further trips:
– to Lake Modre, which was created on the Bóbr River as a dam lake in the Bóbr Valley Landscape Park. Driving from Siedlęcin, you will pass the Bobrowice hydroelectric power plant,
– to Siedlęcin, where the largest and best-preserved medieval residential tower in Poland is located. You can see there the only medieval paintings preserved in the world, depicting the legend of Sir Lancelot of the Lake.
– to the surrounding vineyards, we recommend visiting Jerzmanice, Sokołowiec (Agat vineyard) and Uniejowice (Kindler vineyard),
– to the Lenno Palace to feel like in Tuscany, try a lemon tart and drink coffee. Right next to it is the oldest brick castle in Silesia - Wleń Castle,
– to the iron railway bridge over Lake Pilchowickie – the one that was planned to be blown up in "Mission Impossible 7". The Pilchowice Dam on the Bóbr River is the highest stone and arch dam in Poland, and the second highest (after Solina) in Poland.
Don't forget about the Valley of Palaces and Gardens in the Jelenia Góra Valley, with over 30 architectural structures, such as medieval residential towers, castles, Renaissance manors and baroque palaces.
