If we were to list the top 3 things in our Sarenek Valley, we would start with - surprise note - deer, whose meeting during a walk is on the agenda. Then we would say: sunrise and sunset, breathtaking. Next: pitch black nights where you can see the Milky Way and Saturn's rings. And we will admit immodestly: our baked goods, the smell of which is the main aroma in our home. And maybe we could add some beautiful walking routes that we do not get bored with. I think it turned out more than 3.
We invite you to the Sejny region, to our home, where we will entertain you as best we can. So that you can choose your top 3 in the Sarenek Valley.
Our house is a wooden hut, the structure of which may surprise you a bit. From the front it looks like a small house with classic elements such as a porch or a gable roof. From the garden side, you can see that the classic shape has gained a new extension, and the house is located on a hill, thanks to which it gains a new level.
We have 4 rooms and 1 apartment with two rooms, ideal for parents with two children or two couples. On the ground floor there is a common living room with a fireplace, a library and a children's corner, as well as a dining room, which is the heart of the house. We serve decent breakfasts, of which our pastries are an important ingredient. You can be sure that in the morning you will feel the pleasant smell of fresh bread at home.
We have no direct neighbors - our plot is surrounded by arable fields and forests.
We serve breakfasts in the form of a Swedish table. Our pastries play an important role here: rolls, challahs, buns, croissants, onions, bagels and many others (depending on the season). We also recommend our products, such as butter, jams and lards, and local products: honey, meats and vegetables. We serve warm snacks to the table: eggs in various forms, sausages, sausages and a plate with appetizers.
The pastries that remain from breakfast are always displayed for guests to snack during the day (we do not serve bread from the previous day). During the season, depending on the day, we bake cakes as a free coffee or tea snack.
Anyone who has been to the Sejny region knows that one comes here for peace and quiet. You will also have it with us. We have a large garden where everyone will find their own corner to relax at their own pace. We also have for you:
- volleyball and football field
- a place for a picnic and a bonfire
- sun loungers
- pond
- bikes that you can borrow from us
- Nordic walking poles
- stationary exercise bike.
There are many beautiful places worth visiting in our neighborhood. Here's what you can do in the Sejny region:
- go canoeing. There are at least a few options here and apart from rafting on the well-known rivers: Hańcza and Rospuda, we recommend Marycha - a very winding and picturesque river, flowing through almost the entire Sejny region, right next to the Lithuanian border. There are several routes to choose from on all rivers, with different levels of difficulty. The nearest canoe rental is in Giby.
- go to Lake Hołny, sunbathe on the beach, rent a boat, eat grilled fish.
- in summer you can go to one of the concerts of the Klezmer Orchestra in the White Synagogue in Sejny (check the Summer in Borderland Program)
- visit the Lempis Reserve and the Tobolinka Reserve. Both reserves are famous for their wildlife and are close enough to pop out for an afternoon walk.
- go to the manor in Krasnogruda, where Czesław Miłosz used to spend his holidays. The mansion is located on Lake Hołny and belongs to the Borderland Center - it also hosts cultural events.
- go on a trip to Vilnius - hence it is quite close. If you do not want to go on your own, you will surely find offers of various one-day trips in local travel agencies.
- it is 35 km to the Wigry Landscape Park, and there you can circle in silence along the educational paths winding by the lake - and a bit further, 60 km from the house, there is the Suwałki Landscape Park.
What’s there for children?
There is no boredom. In the rain, too. In the house we have a corner for the youngest guests, and if the weather is good, the children roam the garden, where there are plenty of attractions.
