"Today we were in Loket, which is beautifully laid out above all the description and can be admired from all sides as a landscape work of art," said Johann Wolfgang Goethe in 1823. He was in Loket several times, allegedly because of a giant meteorite legends.

A 100-kilo piece of iron fell into Lokte around 1400. Or not? Some claim that the stone in the shape of a horse's head is in fact the cursed burgrave Gerhard von Wustenfels, who allegedly left the bodies of the executed soaked in spring water and then hung them covered with hot spring stone on the way to the castle as a warning. Thanks to the curse, he then petrified himself. We don't want to jump to conclusions, but it looks like he kind of deserved it.

Today in Loket you will find only a piece of a real meteorite. In the 19th century, it was cut into pieces and sent to museums in Germany, Austria, Sweden, Great Britain, India and the United States. Well, at least the burgrave looked at the world "on his old knees."

The castle is 300 m away from Apartmány u Frídy, which is just enough for you to reach it by a pleasant walk, while you are not threatened by the dragon Šarkan, which is said to still live in the castle tower. He is said to be a good man, but caution is never required!

The Gothic castle on a rocky promontory above the river Ohří is the dominant feature of the beautiful historic town of Loket. Even if you live "only" in the castle grounds, you can enjoy the luxury of a good nobility in the Apartments near Frida. Apartment No.1 with one bedroom accommodates 2 people. There is an equipped kitchen, a beautiful bathroom, a TV and a corner for a pleasant sitting with coffee.

Apartment No. 2 also has only one bedroom, but its area is more generous. There is one double bed, a sofa bed and a couch. Thanks to this, up to 5 holidaymakers can comfortably fit here. Here, too, there is a modern, equipped kitchen, TV and stylish bathroom.

Each apartment has a modern, fully equipped kitchen with a fridge, oven, dishwasher and microwave. For coffee lovers, we also have a capsule coffee machine. I dare say that we have all the dishes you will need during your stay with us. And if you miss any special gadgets, just tell me.

There are also some very good restaurants in the area, so if you want to completely relax from the stove, you will find yourself anyway.

The town of Loket is an ideal refuge for history lovers. Loket Castle is surrounded by beautiful and scary stories, and you will also find the Exposition of Suffering Law here. Probably don't leave this cultural experience with a smile, so then quickly go for a walk somewhere in nature. You will have a wonderful view, for example, from the Gazebo at the castle from 1812.

Legend has it that Charles IV discovered one of the hunting expeditions. hot healing spring and had the first spa town in Bohemia founded here - Teplá lázně near the town of Lokte. You guessed it right, this is today's Karlovy Vary. If you find yourself in the area of West Bohemian spas, you should not miss a visit to this city. Walking along the colonnade with a warm wafer in hand is the equivalent of Zen gardens.

Elbow is an excellent starting point for cycling trips of all kinds. For example, go to Královské Poříčí to the Museum of Crafts, or explore the PLA Slavkovský les. Of course you can also go on foot. The reward for the mileage will be beautiful views, which are full everywhere in the area.

Svatošské skály, which also have their own legend, are also a wonderful trip. It is said that this is a cursed procession at the wedding of Jan Svatoš, who was petrified by the water fairy from Ohře for a broken promise.

A beautiful experience is a sightseeing cruise around the Ohře, during which you can see our impressive historic city from the deck of a boat.

Children will love the legends associated with Loket Castle. You can show them the dragon Sarkan in the castle tower. It is said that a good dragon gave housewives a fire so that they could flood the stove.

While walking around the Ohře, watch the water level to see if the goblin Gottstein appears. That would mean that you will be lucky all year. If he doesn't show up, go see him in the castle courtyard. He has a beautiful statue there. When you stroke his beard, he will fulfill your wishes. But beware: Do not touch the club! He's picky about it.

Go to Kolowrat Rock to look for an animal you won't see anywhere else: "zeprase" - half a zebra, half a pig. When nearby Karlovy Vary chose a chamois (which never lived in the Czech mountains) as their symbol and built a statue for it, the jokers from Lokte also decided to praise an animal that no one had ever seen in our country. The statue of Zeprasete is a well-deserved excursion reward for every child.
