Welcome to Motýčky! Open a bottle of good wine, sit by the heated tiles or let freshly baked bread smell under your nose. Look out the window at the water, which is blown by the wind blowing between the ancient mountain hills, or sit on a bench by the water, put your ear plugs and meditate. And besides all this, when your head turns off, your body starts to rest and your breath calms down, listen to the story of the old cottage. About a house built in 1831 by Anton Motýček, the founder of the village in which you are. Listen to the story of how human ingenuity built a reservoir, unique on the Starohorský stream. Maybe the wind will give you a story about the shooting of Paľ Bielik's film Wolf Holes and you will want to go and see this rock cliff. And maybe you just want to be surrounded by nature and enjoy the simple joy of life.

You will be fine here. This more than 100-year-old house, embraced by the natural elements, will be the right medicine for tired minds and bodies. We open the door to our home, we invite you here so you can relax. Maybe not everything is perfect, 100%, or as if cut from a catalog - but all the more there is love, well-being and simple being.

Would you say that this cottage of ours is over 100 years old? Neither would we, if we didn't know. But it's fine.
You can find the cottage a few kilometers from the busy (mainly) ski resort of Donovaly, on the shore of the reservoir. Or more precisely, the Motyčka waterworks.
Chata Motyčky provides accommodation for up to 14 guests with a total area of 200 m2. A large kitchen with all amenities, 4 spacious rooms, 2 bathrooms, game room, garden, fireplace, barbecue area and, for an additional fee, a sauna with a relaxation area and the possibility of cooling off in the lake will be at your disposal.

There are 4 bedrooms here, so that you can really fit in and have enough privacy for yourself.

bedroom 4 - double bed and 2 single beds (4 persons)

And one more important thing for you to know.
We are not completely isolated, nor completely far from the road. One of these crosses Donovaly next to our cottage on the hill. So it may happen that you will simply hear the sounds of the "civilized" world.

We will not leave you hungry. So you cook yourself, but in the kitchen you will find all the necessary appliances and kitchen utensils so that you can fully indulge in cooking or baking.
If your kitchen happens to be small and you would like to enjoy other delicacies, it is not a problem. Outside by the water, we have a reserved area with a fireplace and barbecue, so if you prefer such tastes, you do not have to limit yourself.
By the way, you can also catch fish in Motýčky, you just need a ticket;)

And so that you have the right period atmosphere when cooking, warm up in the kitchen by our stove ...

Can you imagine the pleasure when you can settle outside in the warm weather and warm up in the sun? Add to that the chatter and the smell of water and the idyll is ready. To make it even better, in summer you will find such a mini terrace with seating, in winter you can boldly stop skiing in Donovaly or do nothing with a cup of something warm in your hand and look out the window right in front of you. But ... we also have a sauna. And especially in winter it can be tempting. Covered with snow, with a window from which you will have a direct view of the forest and the water surface. We built our sauna as eco - as a wooden building with straw panels, with thermal insulation from recycled textiles. And it also has steps that you can descend when you want to cool off in that water. But you don't have to, we also have finer ways here.

But if you are still attracted to hardening, polar bears have been gathering here on the shore in the winter for a few years now. So again, it will only depend on your preferences whether you join or whether you prefer to watch this theater with hot tea in hand.
(Otherwise, for your information, you can cool off in the water and watch polar bears, but remember that swimming is prohibited in this water tank.)

And in addition, we will add a few of our tips for walks and hikes. Like ...

WALKS:
- Motyčky - Donovaly - walk through the almost forgotten villages directly from the cottage to Donovaly along the old road in the cottage area. It will take you 1-1.5 hours and in Donovaly you can refresh yourself to your liking.
- Hoes - Bukovec - nice 0.5 hrs. a walk through the forest will take you to the extinct village of Bukovec, you will find several picturesque wooden houses.
- Staré Hory - drive a short drive to Staré Hory and here you will walk the educational mining trail of Jozef Dekret Matejovie, the Mor ho monument, but also the forest trail for children.

TOURS:
- Staré Hory - Krížna - get ready for a good hike here. Take a few km to Staré Hory and from there over Majerova skála with a great view directly to Krížná (about 4 hours). In our opinion, it is the most beautiful hike in Veľká Fatra.
- Staré Hory - Špania Dolina - if you go to the opposite side, you will find yourself in the Low Tatras and several signs will take you to Španá Dolina (approx. 2 hours). The atmosphere of this mining open-air museum will surely get you there.
- Motyčky - saddle Veľký Šturec - when you go from the cottage along the road about 300 meters, you will get to the old disused road, which will take you after about 1.5 hours. will lead straight to the red sign, ridge (Sedlo Veľký Šturec). From there, at will, either in the direction of Donovaly or, conversely, in Krížná.

Take a look at the ancient mountain system of water works built in the 1920s. (yes, yes, even those Hoes). You will learn about its building and reconstruction, about the horseshoe-shaped tunnel, about tuffs through which water flows. Ask where to go when you are curious.

We have already mentioned catching trout in the tank, so if you have a fishing license, get a permit and who needs it, contact the forest administration office in Staré Hory (+421 (0) 918 334 562). Such a fragrant grilled fish is not to be thrown away.

For jumping, whistling, chases or other entertainment, there is a yard available. It is fenced, fenced, only from the side with water is without a fence, so be careful.

If they still don't want to play in the yard, we have a games room inside. They can test their patience with the many board games we have here, but there are also toys, table football, cards and a radio with CD player.
