People talk about Lubiatów in whispers, commands are given through word of mouth, but not too loudly so as not to attract crowds and commercial over-balticism. Even if you were to promote this white sand, fragrant pine forests, an abundance of mushrooms, horses galloping along the shore, a view from a lighthouse, desert dunes, sweet lakes and a coastal bicycle route, only the patient will get here. Because you have to go to the beach 30 minutes or ride a bike 20 minutes through the forest, because there are no air hockey machines at the entrance, not even vending machines with balls, huge hotels with swimming pools, and in the off-season all lights go out everywhere, shops, ice cream parlors, confectioneries and some restaurants close . From September you can hear only the sea breeze, wind and rain beating the rhythm on the roofs. And that's great too.
We fell in love with this tranquility, a holiday that smells like wild rose and built a house here. Wooden, designed and made so that you can feel here like on vacation with your grandmother in the countryside. That was our idea. We wanted to create a place that would take us, even for a moment, to the times of our carefree childhood, when the holidays lasted endlessly, the days were mercilessly long, the Baltic Sea was not so cold and our hands were sticky with ice cream. We invite you to the Wild Rose with a Baltic soul and a spruce heart.
In Dzika Róża, on Rumiankowa Street, on the edge of the seaside Lubiatów, in a wooden house that has an old soul in it, although it was built today. Thanks to the natural materials from which it was made, it breathes iodine, smells like spruce, larch, pine and wraps you with warmth, also in the fireplace.
We built the house for our needs, so it is family, there is a place for children, there are 3 bathrooms, so that there are no queues for bathing, there is a large comfortable kitchen, a dining room with a fireplace, and a living room. There is a large sunny terrace for sunbathing and a covered porch to rest from the sun.
The house can accommodate up to 8 adults or 10 people, if some of them are children, in 3 bedrooms and a separate living room (on a fold-out couch).
The bedroom layout is as follows:
- a bedroom with a double bed and a futon sofa, which, when unfolded, will become a bed for an adult. It can also be added to the double bed and used as a side cot for babies.
- a bedroom with a single bed and a futon convertible sofa,
- a bedroom with two single beds,
- a living room with a fold-out, very comfortable sofa for two adults (or one adult and two children).
We also have a baby cot.
On the ground floor there is underfloor heating under the stone floor, while on the first floor there are bamboo floorboards and natural stone. Suitcases should be packed with slippers and wind- and weather-resistant clothes for outdoor activities.
Smoking is forbidden in Dzika Róża.
Lubiatowo is a village you come back to, which stays in your memory, which is at the seaside, but has for years resisted plastic courtyard customs. Probably because to get to the beautiful white beach you have to put in some effort. A 30-minute walk through the village, through a pine forest, until you reach the most beautiful and quietest beach in Poland. However, it is enough to go towards the Lubiatowskie Dunes, and there are already empty and truly desert landscapes. Even in the middle of the season, people here are like medicine, most of course in the vicinity of the parking lot. In the car park in Kopalin, you can leave your car right next to the beach, so you don't have to walk to the beach every day. We have important information for people with disabilities or parents with prams, you can drive to the Anna Dymna Foundation's center, leave your car there for free and walk straight to the beach using the asphalt road.
On the other side from the Lubiatowskie Dunes, you can walk along the beach to the Stilo Lighthouse, which is still a working lighthouse, operated by a lighthouse keeper, and even a lighthouse keeper, a navigation tower. You can also get to the lighthouse through a beautiful forest on foot or by bike. Drive your car to Osetnik and leave your car in the parking lot. Be sure to climb the stairs to the top to admire the amazing panorama of the area, Łebsko Lake and the sea to the horizon. A beautiful trail to the lighthouse begins right next to the parking lot. The lighthouse is open from June 1 to August 31 from 10.00 to 18.00.
When you are surprised by the typical Baltic weather, i.e. wind, rain and clouds, you can look for comfort in the ice cream baked under the meringue at the Zamek Łeba hotel. Not only is the hotel right on the beach and the views from the restaurant's windows are amazing, but also the desserts that will dispel even the darkest clouds.
For shorter walks, you can go to the forest, behind the village, where there is an abundance of mushrooms and berries - try in the forests towards Jackowo or those near the Lubiatowskie Dunes. You can also go on a trip to the nearby Kopalińskie Lake or visit Ciekocinko, the most beautiful Art Nouveau castle in Pomerania with horse riding stables and two exquisite restaurants.
What Lubiatowo has to offer is located on the two main streets of the village. In high season, there is a riding stable, bicycle rental, two restaurants, an ice cream parlor and two small corner shops in the center of the village. Everything falls asleep in the off-season, so it's hard to even find an open grocery store. Market Melan in Choczewo is definitely open all year round, brilliantly equipped (even with local specialties).
After a long day at the beach, you can relax in a rocking chair on a wooden veranda, in a hammock, on a sun lounger and admire the sunset while drinking a cool local beer or homemade raspberry lemonade. We recommend enjoying your morning coffee in the rays of the rising sun on the stone terrace, weather permitting.
After the season, fearless daredevils can plunge into the Baltic Sea and feel like real walruses. If you hear fluttering above you, be sure to look up, because wild geese fly in the sky over Lubiatów every year on their way back south. If it is raining or even snowing in winter and all you think about is mulled wine, you can light the fireplace, write a postcard to your friends and read a book or stare at the flames. Star lovers cannot miss the breathtaking panorama of clear nights.
- 0.6 km to the seasonal bike rental.
- 2.7 km to the sea with a bathing beach
- 2.8 km to the lake with a fishing equipment rental in Kopalin
- 9.1 km to the nearest bathing beach
What’s there for children?
For kids, we have a bedroom with two single beds (the size of which are also intended for adults), toys, a collection of games and books for children, a teepee tent, a large fenced garden with a swing. Take into account that it takes about 30 minutes to walk to the sea through the countryside and through the woods. If your kids can't handle it, you can rent bikes or drive your car to the paid parking lot of the State Forests and from there you can walk just a few steps to the beach.
You can also take bikes and a trailer for kids with you and move on two wheels - the EuroVelo route runs through our coast.
