We fell in love with Agaete at first sight. Historical, traditional pueblo in the less touristic part of the island, stuck to the mountainside. White houses blend in with the lush green landscape in spring and maturation in summer. We have two seasons - spring and summer. The season lasts all year round, although the ocean is warmer in summer, and nature blooms in spring. Agaete is the sunniest city in the north, where time runs slowly and has not changed for hundreds of years. People smile and greet in the streets, in the market square, surrounded by atmospheric bars, local life goes on. For Canarians, nothing is more important than celebrating everyday pleasures.

There are no crowds, no typical attractions such as amusement parks, artificial beaches and bouncing dolphins. The attraction is the spectacle of clouds over the cliff, azure pools in the rocks, a small beach with clear water to the horizon, green mountains, trekking paths, sunsets, a valley with coffee plantations, orchards with exotic fruit, food. The smile and honesty of people in the streets, the taste of rum, the smell of coffee, palm trees, blooming flowers, the sound of the waves. Composure.

This real Gran Canaria, which we want to show you, delights with the diversity and uniqueness of nature. We know countless places that tourists do not reach, we will show on a large map hanging in our patio where it is worth going, which road to go and what to see.

It is best to rent a car directly from the airport for the entire stay. We recommend three companies: Cicar, Autoreisen and Pluscar. Proven, honest, inexpensive, no credit card required and no deposit required. They have insurance included in the price, so you don't have to worry about anything. Driving on Canarian roads is pure pleasure. The drivers are polite, nobody is in a hurry, the landscape changes with every kilometer traveled.

Our house is over 100 years old and has preserved the traditional Canarian soul. The previous owners carried out most of the renovation work themselves, adapting the house to new needs. In the apartment, they have kept all the historical details, adding the necessary, modern equipment. We are slowly adding a part of ourselves there. All the time taking care not to lose the atmosphere of the house.
We give you the entire lower part of the house, which consists of:

Bottom:
Four bedrooms: two larger with double beds (160 and 150 cm) and two smaller - ideal for children - one of them has a single bed, the other - bunk beds;
Two bathrooms, both with a shower cabin, in one there is also a washing machine;
Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher,
Patio - the heart of the house with two tables and a sofa;
Cinema-reading room, i.e. a place with a comfortable sofa, where in the evening you can read a book or watch a movie from the projector.

Regardless of the number of people, you always get the whole apartment at your disposal.

Upstairs there is a large terrace with a beautiful view of the mountains and a piece of the ocean. We have a lot of local plants that bloom like crazy and effectively make time more pleasant. On 50 m2 you can relax, eat and cool down under the terrace shower. There is a second independent apartment right next to it, so the terrace is a common area. Sometimes you'll meet us there when we're watering the flowers :) Upstairs we have two more bedrooms that we can make available to you if you would like to come in a larger, but not entirely party, lineup. Write, we'll come up with something.

There is no TV in the apartment, but there is fast internet (300 Mb / s) and a projector with an hdmi cable, which you connect to your laptop and you have a cinema :) The internet is enough to create a home office in the sun. You can work with us at the table at home or on the terrace. Since you have the house only for yourself, no one will disturb you.

The apartment where you will sleep is located on the street and sometimes you can hear passing cars, sounds of fiestas or emotional conversations of passers-by. If you are fans of perfect silence, this is not the place for you. Most of our guests have no problem with this, but we always leave earplugs next to the bed just in case.

We recommend our house to active people who have no problems with mobility. Stairs lead to the terrace, and the house itself is located in the higher part of the city. It takes about 15 minutes to get to the ocean (less than 1.5 km), but there are some stairs along the way and you can definitely practice your fitness ;) You can also drive everywhere by car.

Parking spaces are free and located in the surrounding streets.

Smoking is prohibited both inside the house and on the terrace. We also ask that evening long conversations be moved from the terrace to the home patio. We care about harmony with our neighbors.

Oh, Canarian food! It cannot be described, you have to try it! Vegetables and fruits, seafood, dozens of local cheeses - all fresh and delicious. We did our best to equip the kitchen for you, so you can easily prepare your own meals.

Agaete has both small shops and 2 supermarkets with everything you need. A little further 5 km from the city - 3 large chain supermarkets (Lidl, Mercadona and Hiperdino) - you will find all the rest there.

And if you don't want to cook, there are pubs and restaurants waiting for you in the town. In the main square of Agaete you will find cool tapas bars, an atmospheric cafe with coffee from a local plantation and the iconic bar "El Perola" inside a historic rum shop for 1.5 Euro. By the ocean, in Puerto de las Nieves, a 15-minute walk from the house, there are over a dozen bars, cafes and restaurants that specialize in local cuisine.

We will suggest where it is most delicious, with a heart and without overpaying.

If, like us, you love peace, the soothing sound of the ocean, swimming, snorkeling in azure water, hiking in the mountains, beautiful views and discovering new places - there is no chance that you will be bored. Gran Canaria is called a miniature continent, and it is the amazing diversity of the landscape that extends the list of attractions almost endlessly! The island is not big and it will take you no more than 2 hours to get to the farthest places.

In Agaete itself you will find the most beautiful natural swimming pools on the island, a pebble beach and a bathing area in the harbor with crystal clear water. All of them are flown with a blue flag, which means the highest purity and quality of water and coast. The nearest sandy beach is about 8 km from our house.

A beautiful green valley opens just behind Agaete. This is where you will find coffee plantations (the only one in the EU!), All local fruit and vineyards. We recommend a visit to Finca La Laja, where in the beautiful natural circumstances you will see coffee, wine, mangoes, papayas, bananas growing and you will be able to taste all these delicacies during the tasting.
There are also some beautiful hiking trails in the Agaete Valley, incl. a spectacular path leading up to the Tamadaba Reserve.
The north of the island is a kingdom of small climatic fishing villages and hidden pools in the rocks. Discovering these places and bathing in the azure eyes is one of our favorite activities.

We recommend a visit to Las Palmas, a city that is bustling with life and is not dominated by tourists at all. There is a beautiful 15th-century old town, a gigantic harbor, several kilometers long sandy beach, surfers, hundreds of bars and restaurants.
It is also worth visiting the towns of Arucas, Moya, Firgas, Tejeda, Teror, Valleseco, Santa Brigida and dozens of others - each has its own unique atmosphere and architectural flavors.

For nature fans there are beautiful paths in green gorges, often ended with waterfalls. There are forests and botanical gardens. There are great mountains. The highest peak - Pico de las Nieves (1949 m) can be reached by car and when the visibility allows, you can see from there as many as 4 islands neighboring Gran Canaria. The next two peaks of Roque Nublo and Bentayga with their iconic rock formations are also worth visiting. You can stay in the mountains until the night and admire the Milky Way with the naked eye.

In the south, in the kingdom of mass tourism, there are Maspalomas dunes that will surely delight both children and adults. It is an impressive sandbox where you can feel like you are in a real desert.

There is an ocean, rocks, wave jumping (when they are not too big) and trips with parents in the beautiful surroundings, so there is no boredom. When it comes to attractions in our neighborhood, we only have natural ones, but we have checked that they are completely sufficient. Of course, there are playgrounds in Agaete, but you have to look for amusement parks from tourist brochures in the south of the island (about an hour's drive).

There are children of all ages in our house. For the smallest ones, we have a cot with bedding, a bathtub and a high chair for feeding. There are toys, playing cards and various board games.

Can you feel like you're on vacation at work? If you work on a terrace with deckchairs, in pleasant sunshine with a view of the mountains and the ocean, then the answer is simple. You can. In our beautiful house you will be able to make yourself comfortable with your equipment at a table for about 4 people. And since you have the house all to yourself, no one will disturb you.
