Mioduński Dworek

Mioduński Dworek is a large estate hidden in the tiny town of Mioduńskie. When leaving the asphalt road, you have to wade through Masurian side roads for 10 minutes to reach the charming manor hidden away from civilisation. Upon arriving at the property, you will see a huge 450-year-old oak, whose trunk is so wide that it takes a team to surround its ring. After entering the manor, you will be in awe, spending hours looking at details, gazing at patterned wallpapers, getting lost in bedrooms, tossing wood into the stone fireplace and finally sitting back in the living room or library and feeling time slow down. These warm fabrics, wood, stone, rugs, jacquards, marbles and crystal chandeliers are an interesting change from the minimalistic, modern interiors we have got used to. Feasting and relaxing is probably the best description of what awaits you. By nature, we are a family that shuns extreme sports. Especially being on our "działka" (plot of land). I won’t lie, cooking, talking, singing, relaxing and tasting drinks are the quintessence of what we do in our manor, and that is what we offer our guests. Usually, my day looks like this: I get up early in the morning, around 6:30 and brew a cup of coffee. I toss the sourdough bread into the oven and go out onto the veranda, where the rising sun illuminates Lake Szymon. In the summer season, I go out to the vegetable garden, where I collect vegetables and herbs needed for breakfast. They will be an addition to the country scrambled eggs with bacon from a local butcher, Eggs Benedict or goat cheese, of course, accompanied by warm homemade sourdough bread with spelt flour. So far it's not so bad, a healthy breakfast, coffee, and beautiful scenery. It's time to get back to the kitchen. A rabbit, a duck, a goose from a neighbour marinating in a stew pot. Potatoes from Mr Wiesia drift in a pot full of water. Prepare to feast all day, and make room for a second breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner which is the minimum of what guests can expect. Between meals, we provide freshly squeezed juice and serve interesting local delicacies such as Masurian cheese, or homemade preparations. During the day, there’s time for fishing, painting on an easel, playing the piano, playing with two kids. The property is very large, with minimal traffic, so you can play badminton or football and ride bicycles. The children can jump on the trampoline and on the embankment we added a piece of tarpaulin over a dozen metres long to make a water slide. In the evening, we sit in the living room by the fireplace, engage in long conversations about life and family, we tell stories, we reminisce about our childhood, we play board games, drink red wine or homemade liquors. Every now and then, we make a bonfire by our pond. By the way, we sing, dance and party until the morning. Gather the whole family and make yourself comfortable in our family manor, which brings people together, offers intimacy and luxurious silence.
